McAllen Pediatric Associates would like to welcome Dr. Karelys Rivera to the practice!!! After completing her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Rivera earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas in 2005. As a medical student, she was a research assistant in the UTMB Pediatric outpatient clinic where she established the validity of a pain scale in relation to children with otitis media. In 2008, she completed her Residency in Pediatrics at UTMB-Galveston.

Dr. Rivera is certified for Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. She has her DEA and DPS Licences and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Texas Medical Association.
